In a suburban neighborhood near Cincinnati, Ohio, Greg and Dana Newkirk house a collection of cursed objects. Their journey into this realm began with curiosity and a fascination for the unknown.
The Newkirks unintentionally became caretakers of these objects, gaining a reputation for their expertise. Their collection grew, featuring items from around the world with dark reputations.
Visitors are warned about the basement’s cursed contents, which include haunted robes and macabre artifacts. Cursed objects possess a unique allure, captivating our morbid fascination. The Newkirks approach their role responsibly, safeguarding the objects from harm and preventing them from falling into the wrong hands. Some artifacts evoke visceral physical reactions, highlighting their inherent danger.
Among their collection, the Chrome stands out. This wooden effigy, discovered in the Catskills, is said to induce anxiety and distress, leaving a trail of unsettling events. Recognizing the danger, the Newkirks embarked on a mission to remove the Chrome’s curse.
They performed a meticulous cleansing ritual, removing each embedded nail. With the curse lifted, the Chrome transformed into an ordinary block of wood. Their journey illuminates the enigmatic allure of cursed objects and the responsibility that comes with being their caretakers.

Very cool article! I’m from Ohio and never knew of this cursed museum in someone’s home! Also, in your article you call the carved woman statue a CHROME. However, it is actually CRONE. A CRONE is usually thought of as an elderly lady. Some stories of her make her out to be a scary entity but in actuality it just refers to a wise, elderly lady.
